Saturday Snapshots–Elvis and Buddy Holly

A friend and fellow Toastmaster hosted a gathering of family, friends and neighbours (2010) and hired Elvis and Buddy Holly to entertain us. Above, Elvis Presley impersonator (US). Below, Buddy Holly impersonator (Canada) and his assistant from the audience. We had a great time seeing them perform and enjoying the company of friends and a picnic supper.

The Elvis one looks pretty good. I hope the music was good.

Both performers did a fabulous job. The fellow playing Holly invited someone to come up and play the guitar as a back-up player. That was fun. I think it was heavy as the young gal had to support it with her knee. I bet that was a highlight of her day.

He looked like the pictures I recognize and his voice was so smooth. He was amazing.

We were smiling for sure. Elvis picked my friend out in the audience and held her hand and sang to her. She blushed so much but she liked it. Just a part of his performance.

We had a blast and the little girl who played Holly’s guitar will remember that day for a very long time, I think.
