Daisies and their petalled partners

The daisies [first photo] are in full bloom as are the colourful gaillardias [above].

Last evening, I sat out on my front porch and feasted on the brightness and colour  they bring to my flower beds.  Such beauty! All I do is plant and tend. The sun and rain [ and some water from our rain barrel] get things going, but it’s our creator who designed these flowers.

I’ve always had a fondness for daisies. Just this week, I bought a gloriosa daisy [sorry no photo yet] and settled it into a spot in my flowerbed. One more plant with petals like a daisy, only with different colours. Are these plants connected in the plant world? Could we call them collaborators of beauty?

Thinking back to the daisies, I remember my sisters and I gathering wild daisies from along our country lane. We’d pick a petal and say “He loves me”  then another and say “He loves me not”  until the last one that was supposedly the answer. We knew that the picking of petals referred to boys we liked who may or may not love us in return.

If we change that person to a being and name it God, we can say, “He loves me, he loves me”  into infinity. Great thought for any day.

I’ll just enjoy these petalled beauties  for what they are. There’s no need to ask if he loves us. We already know that.

I took a lot of photos of my garden, but I really liked how these turned out. Thanks, Joanna.
