My Saturday Snapshot for At Home With Books

Dusk, taken in Baddeck, Cape Breton Island, from the motel  where we stayed last summer.

Go and check out the other photos; this is a fun meme. Thanks, Alyce.

Beautiful! I love islands, and this one looks dreamy…thanks for sharing.

Thanks. This one is dreamy. Extra dreamy in the early morning fog. 😉 The scenery is breathtaking and nature in the rough in places.

That looks like such a tranquil place to vacation. I could really use that right now!

Cape Breton is a good place for relaxation, but keep your wits about you on those curvy mountain roads.

I see all these nice places on Saturday snapshot, I wish I could travel a lot more than I do.

The outdoor furniture was painted either bright white or sunny yellow. A picnic here would be nice too. At the end of our travelling days, we were glad for someone else to prepare our food.

We can travel vicariously, I suppose, through these photos. 😉 Hard to get to all the places shown here, but still good to see the photos.

What a great place to have a picnic!

What a lovely summer vacation shot!

We had a great time out east last summer, and this was a pretty spot. Will share others on another Saturday. You can also go back in my blog to August 2010 to see more.

Thanks, Alyce. This one is actually less than an hour’s drive away. Beautiful any time of year, and especially in the fall with the autumn leaves.

I’m enjoying this meme so much. We get to see so many amazing pictures. Thanks!

      Thanks, Cecelia. Love water scenes.

Anything with a view of the water is the place for me!

    • 16. storygal  |  September 3, 2011 at 11:17 pm

I like it too, which is why I like the east coast so much. Thanks.

I love the faint pink in the sky. Very pretty!

    Here’s mine:

The sky was the best part of this photo, I thought, though I loved the water too and the lawn for a picnic.
Speaking of picnics, this motel has a restaurant, and the staff will pack a lunch for a day on the road. The motel was The Silver Dart in Baddeck. Their food is excellent and their packed lunches just as good.
