Saturday Snapshot– A Cool Picnic at Bass Lake Provincial Park

Earlier in the summer we went camping with our daughter and son-in-law and their family. On one of our walks along the lake pathway, we encountered this picnic table partly submerged in the lake and under a tree that leaned out over the water. Those were hot days at the camp, but cooler under the trees or in the water.

Was this someone’s idea of a cool picnic?

Yes, it is. Sometimes a poem comes from the smallest details.

I’d love to have you write a poem. Yes, credit me for the photo for a one-time use. Will check your blog.

I love this photo. It is a composition in light and shadow as well as reflection and framing! Good job.

Thank you, Barbara. You gave me an idea. Think I will make an enlargement and frame it.

I would be curious to know. Whomever it was (likely more than one) had to be strong. Those tables are heavy as we noticed when we had to move one in our campsite.

Perhaps the fish enjoy a picnic as well??

Wouldn’t that be an interesting underwater picture with crumbs and things dropping from the table. đŸ™‚ Thanks for stopping by.

Nice reflection, it does seem like a wasted picnic opportunity though.

Depending on whose picnic it is and how the table got there. Thanks for stopping by.

On a hot, hot day in July, it might be very good, unless the picnic basket floats away. đŸ˜‰

I love the photo with the reflections in the water. I’m not sure I’d wade out for a picnic though.

Thinking the same thing, unless I knew it to be quite shallow and the table unlikely to move. Thanks for stopping by.

I think you’re right… someone made a swim-up picnic table. Kind of like the swim-up pool bars at the resorts!

Interesting thought, Leslie. I wouldn’t know about the swim-up bars myself, except for seeing other photos. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

What a terrific shot. I enlarged it once, and then again. And STILL — not a single ripple on that water. It’s so still — that is really really gorgeous.
As one blogger comments, it is poem-inspiring!
